No comment on the fit (I'll let others more confident giving feedback comment on this :)) ..but just to say my back really hurt when babywearing at first. I delivered via csection, which destroyed my core. Working on my core and pelvic floor, while gradually increasing time baby wearing did the trick.

Stretchy or woven wrap is the best for a newborn as you can achieve the C shape for their delicate spines. Carriers are ok once baby can sit on their own, but I have exclusively been carrying my baby in a woven wrap since day one and he's almost 7 months old now. No back pain or anything.

Try to get the wrap a lot tighter (like a bathing suit) and spread the inner layers more even across the whole back. That way the head will be a bit more supported. But yes, at that age you'll most likely always need a hand on the wobbly head. It's also OK to tuck it under a strap as long as the wrap is tight enough that baby doesn't sag.
